These are two original paintings / prints by Mary Beach, published in Love Love #1. The artworks have been gifted by Pam Plymell, Mary's daughter. Mary Beach was a cousin of Sylvia Beach who started Shakespeare & company in Paris. She was a painter, a writer, a translator and a very imaginative and multitasking artist. Her lifelong partner was "the French Beat" Claude Pélieu, with whom Mary moved to the States. Together they met with Lawrence Ferlinghetti among other people of the Beat Generation and Mary was one of the first to translate the beats into French.
